The air is crisp and chill, leaves are
falling, and it’s harvest time!

Good news recently for Grant County — Freeport
McMoran Copper & Gold, Inc. (“the
mines”) announced that they plan
to hire about 570 people at the Chino
Mine by the second quarter of next year.
(In February 2009, citing falling copper
prices, the company had laid off about
600 workers.) This is a positive note
in a time of recession!
Cecilia Bell, who was seriously injured
in an automobile accident (on the way
to Fort Bayard Days) on September 17,
should be back home any day now. Best
wishes for her continuing recovery, from
all of us!
The Gazette’s new website (glenwoodgazette.com)

If you can, please attend the San Augustin
Water Grab public meeting on Tuesday
November 9 at the Macey Center on the
NM Tech campus at 1:30 PM. It is extremely
important that as many of us who are
concerned show up as possible! CAMPUS

I'll be traveling over to the Texas

I won't respond until after I return.
Do remember that the closing date for
December’s Gazette will be November
19.

As Thanksgiving approaches, take some
time to reflect on the blessings of the
past year. We’ve all experienced
challenges and disappointments, but they
happen so we can appreciate the better
times!
May we all spend moments in reflection
this month to count our blessings!
